We started Aro for our own families and we want to help yours.

It’s no secret that screen time is one of the biggest issues facing families today. And we’re not just talking about the kids! Joey and I both struggle with this amazing, captivating, infinitely-powerful tool that we call a smartphone.

We knew something had to change. We wanted to be better for our families and we wanted our families to be better.

So we created Aro. Aro leverages the science of habit formation and motivational design to ensure parents and kids don’t miss out on what’s most important by helping reclaim time spent on their phones.

We've seen the benefits in our own families, and now we want you to experience Aro in yours.

Sincerely,
Heath Wilson & Joey Odom

About
Stephanie

Hello! I'm Stephanie, a wife, and homeschool mom to four amazing girls, including energetic toddler twins. Since 2009, I've been a private Spanish tutor. Time is fleeting, and a huge goal of mine is to be present with my girls.

Q&A with
Stephanie

Do you have a moment when you realized your phone was getting in the way of what’s important to you?

Since I am a homeschool mom, I'm always at home, and I realized that I also had my phone right beside me. Since my phone was always there, it became far too easy to constantly check for notifications and mindlessly scroll.

What attracted you to Aro?

One day I was listening to the Famous at Home podcast, and Joey was talking about the problem I was experiencing with my phone and about Aro. I realized this was something I desperately needed and immediately signed up!

What is the greatest piece of advice you have ever received?

The greatest advice I ever received was to follow Jesus and love others well.

What does success with Aro in your home look like for you?

We've been using Aro since May 2023, and every night, I've made it a habit to put my phone in the box. If I happen to wake up, I'm far less likely to get out of bed and check my phone in the living room, so I've been sleeping much better. My phone is no longer by my side at all times; when I'm homeschooling, it's in the box, making it much easier to focus on school with my girls. In the morning, when my twins wake up, my phone again goes in the box, and we spend a good hour or so just playing with them before starting school. I'm very thankful for Aro and want to share it with everyone!

What are some of your favorite activities to do when you put down your phone?

Although I stay very busy being a mom and tutor, I also have more time to do the things I love, which include playing the piano, singing, baking, reading, and crafting. Life is short, and we need to live it to the fullest!
