We started Aro for our own families and we want to help yours.

It’s no secret that screen time is one of the biggest issues facing families today. And we’re not just talking about the kids! Joey and I both struggle with this amazing, captivating, infinitely-powerful tool that we call a smartphone.

We knew something had to change. We wanted to be better for our families and we wanted our families to be better.

So we created Aro. Aro leverages the science of habit formation and motivational design to ensure parents and kids don’t miss out on what’s most important by helping reclaim time spent on their phones.

We've seen the benefits in our own families, and now we want you to experience Aro in yours.

Hi, I'm Stephanie! We're a Canadian family of 6 (4 kids aged 5 and under) currently in Florida. We're striving for a more analog lifestyle. Despite not having a TV in our home, we've noticed an increase in phone usage. This year, our goal is to spend less time on our phones, aiming to log 1000 hours outside. Aro will be a big help for us to achieve these goals!

Q&A with

Do you have a moment when you realized your phone was getting in the way of what’s important to you?
I noticed myself becoming snippy and resentful with my kids when they interrupted me while on Instagram. I eventually quit IG and other social media, but it's still easy to get sucked into wasting precious time on my phone and being distracted.

What attracted you to Aro?
Hearing Justin Whitmel Earley talk about it - I think it’s genius! I made my own phone box (with a charger) four years ago, but without the accountability, it’s just collecting dust.

What is the greatest piece of advice you have ever received?
Invest in your marriage weekly.

What’s your favorite book?
Little Women by Louisa May Alcott

What are some of your favorite activities to do when you put down your phone?
Being on the beach, walking among the trees, playing board games.
